The page makes it easier for companies to search for opportunities in the Community and to move to the Aragonese platforms
The Aragon Logistics Platforms (APL) has recently made public a combined register of all Autonomous Community logistics assets, both from the point of view of top quality available land and their leading services and leading companies in the sector, as well as highly qualified training. The website www.aragonplataformalogistica.es was established to publicise all the advantages that Aragon has to offer in logistics, and it contains a unique search engine for plots of land in the three main regional platforms.
The website makes it easier for companies to search for opportunities in the Community and move to the Aragonese public logistics platforms, with its unique plot of land search engine, including the facilities and their specific data, such as surface area, location, GPS positioning and development conditions (e.g. setbacks, buildability, surface area allowed and height).
The website also has files with information about the constituent companies of the APL: Plaza (Zaragoza Logistics Platform), Plhus (Huesca Logistics Platform), Platea (Teruel Logistics Platform) and Expo (Zaragoza Empresarial). Although it is also possible to consult information on PLFraga (Fraga Logistics Platform) availability, and soon Sodecasa (Calamocha) will be added.
The corporate page also has descriptive information about other participants in the joint initiative, who will be present through the Advisory Council with which the APL will have to design the strategic lines of action of the Government. These are Plata (Teruel Airport), ZCL (Zaragoza Logistics Centre), ITAInnova, over 200 companies grouped in the logistics cluster Alía, TMZ (Zaragoza Maritime Terminal), Mercazaragoza, Arex (Aragón Exterior), the Aragon Institute of Development Pilot Programme, Aena, Adif and the Monzón Intermodal Terminal (TIM, private).
These companies make up Aragón’s logistics resources in land, training and freight transport, and together they make Aragon a very attractive option for investment from private companies that want to settle in the region. The ultimate purpose of this action is to give voice to the concerns that may be transferred by the companies already installed in Aragon, the logistics infrastructure managers, the companies that offer services related to the sector and the advanced specific training centres.
International logistics reference
In the coming weeks, the Governing Council will approve the creation of the company APL to give legal form to this initiative, which comes from the will to allow public and private agents to participate in Aragon Government policy in this sense, as it is considered a strategic commitment for this Administration, as expressed a few days ago by the Government President, Javier Lambán, who has entrusted the leadership of the project to the Department of Economy, Industry and Employment, via the Minister, Marta Gastón.
The future public company will unify the management of all Autonomous Community public logistics platforms, European leaders in the supply of logistics areas in Spain. Its creation symbolises the clear commitment of the Aragon Government to logistics, and the intention to make the Autonomous Community an international benchmark in this area.
APL will be a wholly-owned regional company, owned through the Corporación Empresarial Pública as sole shareholder. This new structure aims to optimise and streamline the management of these assets and centralise decision making in the different companies. It will also consider the creation of technical committees open to the participation of the municipalities involved in the platforms, such as Zaragoza, Huesca, Teruel, Calamocha, Fraga and Monzón, with the intention that the institutions are partners in streamlining the process for possible facilities, among other things.
The company is currently being processed by the Aragon Government and will see light of day in the coming weeks.
